How I Work
I engage with organizations in three primary ways, depending on what the situation requires. Most clients come to me knowing something needs to change — but not always sure what shape the help should take. That's fine. We figure it out together
Fractional CMO
For companies that need senior marketing leadership on an ongoing basis — without the cost or timeline of a full-time hire.
You have a marketing team, or the beginning of one. What you don't have is a senior leader who can set the strategy, make the hard calls, and be accountable for results. Maybe your last CMO just left. Maybe you've never had one and you're scaling fast enough that the gap is starting to show.
I embed as your head of marketing on a part-time basis — attending leadership meetings, owning the strategy, directing the team, and reporting to you the same way a full-time executive would. The difference is flexibility: we scope the engagement to what your business actually needs right now.
Best fit: Growth-stage and mid-market companies, PE-backed businesses post-acquisition, organizations in leadership transition.
Interim Executive
For companies that need a full-time marketing leader for a defined period.
Sometimes the situation doesn't allow for part-time. A departure, an acquisition, a transformation initiative, a board mandate — something has created an urgent need for someone who can step in, take ownership, and move fast.
I've done this before, more than once. I know how to get up to speed quickly, earn trust with a team that didn't choose me, and deliver results on a compressed timeline. I also know how to set up whoever comes after me for success — because a good interim leader's job is to make themselves unnecessary.
Best fit: Companies mid-transition, organizations navigating M&A, teams that need stability and direction while a permanent search runs in parallel.
Strategic Advisory & Project Enagements
For companies that need senior-level thinking applied to a specific problem.
Not every situation requires an ongoing engagement. Sometimes you need a marketing audit and a clear set of recommendations. A positioning and messaging overhaul. A go-to-market strategy for a new product or market. A second opinion from someone who's seen a lot of marketing organizations and can tell you honestly what's working, what isn't, and what to do about it.
These engagements are defined in scope and timeline, with a clear deliverable at the end. I bring the same senior perspective I'd bring to a fractional or interim role — applied to your specific question.
Best fit: Companies preparing for a fundraise or transaction, leadership teams that want an outside view, organizations evaluating a significant strategic pivot.
What I Bring to Every Engagement
Regardless of how we work together, a few things don't change.
I've led marketing teams ranging from 7 to 30 people, managed budgets at scale, and reported to CEOs and boards. I've built marketing functions from scratch and rebuilt ones that weren't working. I've navigated acquisitions from both sides — as the company being acquired and as the acquirer integrating a new brand. I understand what sales needs from marketing, what the board needs from the CMO, and what a team needs from a leader who showed up last Tuesday.
I work across B2B, B2B2C, and select B2C engagements, with deep experience in SaaS, healthcare, animal health, fintech, edtech, and publishing. I work remotely and on-site depending on what the engagement calls for.
